Corpsman. Medic.

Tom Rader 4th Reconnaissance Battalion

Former Navy Corpsman; deployed with Marine Recon. Before that — and sometimes between shifts — a paramedic in the DFW area and an executive protection operator. The kind of background that makes you very comfortable in bad situations and very impatient with gear that doesn't work.

After the military, I built a second career in content and digital media. I've held editor positions at several publications, managed CMS migrations, run editorial operations at scale, and consulted for content-based businesses that needed someone who could think in systems and write in plain English at the same time.

These days I teach wilderness medicine and off-road skills, write for publications across the firearms, outdoor, and overlanding space, and run a consulting practice under Content Management Solutions. I assault 14ers in sandals, chase rucking challenges, and have a well-documented ability to find the breaking point of any piece of gear I touch.

If it has to work on your worst day — under pressure, in the dark, with dirty hands — I'm interested in it.
